Achieving Lean Flow

“Lean Flow” pertains to moving patients through healthcare delivery systems in an efficient, prompt, high quality and predictable manner. This course will show you the physics behind what gets in the way of achieving good patient flow. You will also learn how to build in counter measures to be able to attain and maintain lean flow.

Charles E. Noon, PhD

Dr. Noon is head of the department of Business Analytics & Statistics at the University of Tennessee. He is a founding member of the highly-ranked Physician Executive MBA program and continues to teach in the program. Dr. Noon also teaches in the department’s Masters and PhD programs, and in a number of executive education programs including the longstanding “Lean for Healthcare” offered by the University of Tennessee.

His teaching interests include operational improvement, business modeling, simulation, and decision analysis & support. He holds a PhD in Industrial & Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan. His published research concerns computer-based modeling and process improvement.
